Exhibit at Gallery 114

Posted on

Sheila DeLaquil’s works, “Kokopelli” and “Submerged #4″ are featured at the Future Tellers exhibit at Gallery 114 through July 1, 2017. Artists tackle questions about the world of tomorrow: what will politics, science, technology, the human condition, and making art look like? Do artists foresee a world of fear or hope? Feel empowered or endangered? Artists respond to these questions in diverse media, telling their stories of the future.

The Geezer Gallery is proud to have partnered with the Portland Art Museum’s docents to create a diverse show to exhibit the docents’ personal artwork. The Docent Council is a passionate group of art enthusiasts who pursue avenues to share their knowledge of the fine arts with the community at The Portland Art Museum. There will be over 20 docents participating in this unique show that celebrates this group’s successful women in all mediums of the art world. Through performance or fine art, these women’s expression will be empowering and inspiring. Click HERE for more information regarding this exhibition!

“Hugs and Kisses” is a lighthearted take on love. It’s full of warm tones and makes me think of hugging and kissing my grandson.
“Hugs and Kisses” was created using acrylic paint and caran d’ache crayons on paper mounted on birch panel.

LCAC Artist Sally Cantrell Griffith

Posted on Updated on

Fine Art Photographer and LCAC member, Sally Cantrell Griffith, currently has a printed photo on aluminum in the Roche Bobois furniture store in downtown Portland.  The Geezer Gallery represents Sally’s art for the store.  The business that printed the photo for Sally is using her work as advertisement for their printing. Take a look at the photo below. Sally captured this image at the Vigor Shipyards on Swan Island.  “They were welding together a new barge and you can see the joints and inspection comments in the photo.”
Sally lives in PDX but spends winters in Arizona and will be participating in Open Studios in her neighborhood in Arizona. If you happen to be traveling to Arizona in the near future and want to see more of her beautiful work, go to the LCAC Artist page for her contact information or you can visit her website.
