In my former life I was an experimental biologist, studying cells and tissues, where precision and measurements were essential parameters. Now my experimentation has taken on a different meaning: I welcome unexpected reactions that occur as colors interact with various surfaces and media. It is exciting to watch what happens when paint moves over, around, into, and between surfaces of differing compositions and textures! My abstract and semi-representational landscapes and dreamscapes are usually inspired by nature, music, or emotions based on real world events. These themes are expressed in acrylic media and a wide variety of collage materials. In addition, I enjoy teaching my methods to both professional and amateur painters.
